What is Bodymeditation?
Bodymeditation is a system of Yoga-related movements that incorporates slow-paced, precise sequences. In these sequences the body, the breath and the postures are carefully coordinated.
The quiet attention to the movement, to the physical sensations and to the breath fosters an inward-directed gaze that both calms and centers the mind.
Bodymeditation was developed because I wanted to bring Yoga and meditation together.
Meditators often sit on their cushion with no direct connection to their body. Western Yoga, on the other hand, is often heavily involved with poses and movement but tends to loose the deep mental focus that characterizes meditation.
A slow-paced, connected way of moving that engages a clear and focused mind combines the best of both traditions.
